Dr. Faynberg is a board certified and Florida licensed doctor of optometry. She sees patients with routine vision needs like glasses and contacts. She also had post-graduate training seeing patients with medical problems and needing uncomplicated post surgical care. She sees patients with similar needs in our practice as well. She joined The Eye Clinic of Florida in 2005.
She received her Doctor of Optometry from Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia, PA. She holds the distinction of doing a specialized Residency after getting her degree. Her Residency was in Cornea, External Ocular Disease and Refractive Surgery under the directorship of Stephen E. Pascucci, M.D. and Joseph P Shovlin, O.D. at Northeastern Eye Institute, Scranton, PA. There she co-managed pre and post operative patients with refractive surgery (including LASIK, LASEK, PRK, and CK), cataracts, penetrating keratoplasty and surgical complications. Co-managed patients with glaucoma and variety of external ocular disorders.
During her training she also had externships at Broward Eye Care Associates with Paul Klein, O.D. in Fort Lauderdale, FL. There she had extensive experience with of contact lens wearers of all types with emphasis on toric, monovison, kerotoconus, orthokeratology, and disposable contact lens fits.
She also had externship at Manchester Veterans Administration Medical Center and at the Pediatric and Binocular Vision Clinic at The Eye Institute at Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia, PA.
She also has low vision and rehabilitation experience with an Internship at Feinbloom Vision Rehabilitation Center at The Eye Institute at Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia, PA. There she administered comprehensive low vision examination, including hands-on instructions of various telescopes, magnifiers, microscopes, computers and sun lenses.
